How do you burn DVD onto CD-r?
I'd like to do this in-house, but it may be more cost-effective to outsource. For instance, can I burn a regular master DVD-R off my non-linear editing suite (a Cinewave with a SuperDrive), then put this master in a DVD duplicator with DVD-R authoring media in order to have copy-protected DVDs?

DVD-RAM/R drives are probably the better choice for people who need both to be able to burn DVD discs that can be read by a majority of home (90%) players, and also need a good, long term, In other words, whatever you can do with a hard drive, you can do with the DVD-RAM media (albeit a good bit slower).

I have (packaged with drive) Sonic DVD and my graphics card came with WinDVD/Intervideo. I have access to ULead, probably. Any suggestion on a PC application to burn DVD movies? Do you prep your footage in a non-linear editing app and then burn using a smaller utility? Or do it all using a particular software?
